dip, and twirl<\/p>\n

in graceful elegance.<\/p>\n

So touched by her words was I,<\/p>\n

I might never be the same.<\/p>\n

My words dance!<\/p>\n

To find the tempo,<\/p>\n

the grace<\/p>\n

of sole to floor,<\/p>\n

fingertip on key,<\/p>\n

pen against page.<\/p>\n

She speaks of what I know,<\/p>\n

have waited a lifetime\u2014<\/p>\n

this dance.<\/p>\n

\n

To phrases<\/p>\n

birthed in the pulse of the sea;<\/p>\n

awakened by a babe\u2019s sudden cry,<\/p>\n

June sunsets;<\/p>\n

the thrum of a Harley<\/p>\n

in the canyon,<\/p>\n

along a rushing river bed;<\/p>\n

I dance<\/p>\n

\n

to the beat of eagles\u2019 wings,<\/p>\n

clouds stampeding across western sky,<\/p>\n

timpani’s mounting crescendo<\/p>\n

hushed by falling snow;<\/p>\n

the glide of silken glove over fingertips, then wrist, then forearm, past elbow;<\/p>\n

counterpointed by a pulsing fan one August night,<\/p>\n

the rise and fall of his chest\u2014<\/p>\n

the dance.<\/p>\n
