“Why would I want to get married? You and Daddy’s marriage hasn’t exactly been stellar.” She’s right. “Marriage gives you a hand to hold, Baby Girl.” I may have a different answer for my daughter tomorrow, but for today marriage is a promise of comfort and healing touch, even in seasons when words are painful or silent. “I know the hands of Jesus, because I’ve been held by your daddy’s,” I said. “I hope this for you too.”
