Today we celebrate this sweet guy who appreciates the joy of any kind of pie or cake with a good cup of coffee. Happy Birthday, Johnny! Our past several years bear witness to what a milestone it is to sing another rousing rendition of the Happy Birthday song!
With a southern accent and vocal cadence of radio personalities, John Clay loves telling jokes and stories. His delivery carries the lilt of talk show hosts in the 1960’s & 70’s with quick wit and humor. We hear sirens and he says, “Uh-oh, they’re looking for my sister.”
Uncle Johnny, 74 today, keeps our spirits up, and his wide smile lights up the room as he laughs along with us. He leans in and his voice can go up an octave or down into deep baritone: “Fifteen tons and what do you get? Another year older and deeper in debt.”
We all laugh and sing another round. He is our wish.
